About Me -

Dr Kathryn Whyte

How I Work

In partnership – recognising everyone’s individual expertise in working with families, communities and networks to offer support and solutions

With curiosity – not making assumptions and making space for lots of different possibilities. I’m particularly interested in how different cultures, identities and experiences shape us as people

Evidence informed – keeping up to date with what works and using this knowledge to guide what I offer

Pragmatic – being realistic and focusing on impact and meaningful change

Open and transparent – including being up front from the start about costs, timescales and expectations

Some other things that are important to me personally and professionally are:

* Working with fairness, equity, accessibility and social justice in mind

* Staying open to new experiences and learning

* Holding hope alongside being realistic

* Sharing what I've learned with others to grow understanding about family mental health and wellbeing, developmental trauma and neurodiversity- especially FASD

When I'm not working, some of the things that bring me joy and a sense of balance are:

* Being a mum to 2 brilliant young women - who have taught me SO much!

* Reading about different places and people

* Learning Italian and singing in a musical theatre choir

* Walking - especially by the sea , talking, laughing and watching crime dramas with my husband

* Eating, talking, singing and dancing with friends
