Explore how we can work together.

What I Offer

Assessment 1

Assessment is an essential starting place for our work together and comes in different shapes and sizes.

For some people or families, one assessment session is enough to come to a shared understanding of the issues, discuss an approach and agree to start working together.

Starting our work together this way costs £200 to include time with parents and time with the child or young person within a 1 hour session, and a written summary of the outcome and therapeutic recommendations.

Assessment 2

When things are more complex, or there is more than one area of concern or uncertainty, we may need to meet a few times and in different combinations to figure things out before therapeutic work starts.
Assessments like this are costed at £125 per hour session and we would agree how many assessment sessions will be needed before we start (typically one parent/caregiver session, one session with the child and young person and one family session).
A written summary report will also be provided at a cost of £100 and will include an outline of background information, formulation (psychological explanation of what is going on) and recommendations, including a therapeutic plan.

Comprehensive Psychological Assessment

Where an assessment needs to take into account multiple perspectives and consider a range of factors to best explain what is going on for a young person and their family, a comprehensive assessment will be recommended. Children and young people whose experiences include being adopted or in foster care, who have SEND needs that are not well understood by the network around them or families with young teens transitioning to adulthood will likely benefit from this more detailed assessment of skills, strengths, vulnerabilites and struggles.
This will include multiple meetings with parents or caregivers, use of psychological measures as well as meetings with your child/young person, a family session and observations in school/consultation with key education staff.
The cost for this assessment package will be agreed before the assessment starts and will vary between £1200 and £1800 depending on the number of sessions needed, where the assessment sessions take place and the number of other adults involved in your child's life that I need to speak with to get a full picture. A thorough written report is included as part of this package and can be shared with other health, social care and education professionals.

Connected and therapeutic caregivers support

Growing up children can bring so much joy, pleasure and excitement for parents and caregivers. And there are times when as parents and caregivers we don't feel that way about our parenting. Instead, it feels exhausting, frustrating and even overwhelming. There are so many reasons why this might be the case such as:

•Caring for a child with complex needs such as learning and/or physical disabilities or chronic health conditions
•Caring for a child who joined your family through adoption, fostering, special guardianship or as part of a blended family where the child has experienced loss, neglect or other traumas
•Caring for a child who behaves in ways that feel impossible to understand, including using violence at home or pushing you away
•Having had traumatic experiences in your own background, including as a child or perhaps a violent partner relationship that your child also experienced
•Caring for a baby or child you feel you haven't bonded with or a teenager you feel disconnected from

If any of this describes how you feel about parenting one or more of your children, then a series of therapeutic sessions focused on your experiences and role as a parent or caregiver could support you. A priority for you might be:
•Understanding what is going on for your child and/or what is going on for you,
•Finding a way through so you can manage things differently
•Enjoying spending time with each other again
•Navigating services to get a rounded package of support in place

Sessions are charged at £125 per hour or a block of 6 sessions to use over a 3 month period paid up front for £650 (saving £100 for the block).

Therapeutic work with adults, children and families

Starting therapy is a very individual thing and is usually just one piece of the jigsaw of what is going to create and grow the changes you want to see for yourself or your family.

I work flexibly using all the different parts of my training and experience - along with the research evidence of what works best.

There will always be a conversation about what you’d like to work on and how we’ll know if things are headed in the right direction. We can always review things at any point in our work together.

Sessions are usually weekly and can be in person, online or a blend of both.

Consultation

Consultation as a way of supporting practitioners and teams in their work with children and families can be an efficient and cost-effective way of making change happen.

It's also a powerful way of creating a space for teams to explore dynamics and themes in their own system and between organizations when working with children and families whose needs are complex.

Individual consultation sessions are £150 for a one-hour session online and a written summary of the meeting to include agreed next steps.

Team/group sessions for between 2 and 6 people are £250 for a 90-minute session and written summary of the meeting to include agreed next steps.

Reduced rates are available for charities so please contact me to discuss how I can support your not-for-profit work.

Supervision

Supervision has been a really important aspect of my practice for many years and an aspect of being an experienced Clinical Psychologist that I really value.

I see supervision as a safe space for practitioners to explore and develop their practice from dilemmas about client work to reflections on their values and personal growth.

I work integratively as a supervisor, using whichever models and methods feel like the best fit in the circumstances with each person.

I'd love to hear from you if you think a relational, curious and pragmatic supervision approach from me can help you reflect on and develop your practice and build skills.

Supervision is charged at £115 per hour online session for practitioners who are 5 or more years post qualification.

I offer a reduced rate of £80 per hour online session for early career practitioners and those working for charities.

For online groups of 3 or more, the cost is £100 per person for a 90 minute session. I'll be happy to discuss options for group supervision in a phone call or email check in so do get in touch.

Training

I offer bespoke, in-person training for your school, service, team or charity.

All my trainings are rich with discussion and examples from my practice, rooted in evidence and filled with opportunities to practice skills in the moment with colleagues, going back to work energised with new ideas and tools to start making changes to practice and culture straight away.
